More than a third of fleet managers believe that investing in fleet management technology would strengthen their company’s competitive advantage.

The findings, from the Fleet World/Shell ‘The Future of Fleet’ survey, also found that just 27% of fleet managers actually use the systems to manage their vehicles.

To highlight the functionality of the technology, Jaama will be showcasing new modules introduced to its award-winning management solution Key2 at the Fleet Show.

Jaama invests more than £2 million per year on software development, including the recently introduction of vehicle inspection sheets within the Workshop job sheets touchscreen module. The touchscreen application allows technicians to view their work allocation and record their time against each vehicle work item.

A further development by Jaama is its new ‘My Vehicle App’. It delivers benefits to managers thanks to ‘auto-triggering’, as well as simplifying tasks for drivers. Unlike other apps, ‘My Vehicle App’ not only provides drivers with information; crucially, information uploaded by drivers via the app automatically updates records held within Jaama’s Key2 asset management system.

Jaama managing director Martin Evans said: “Whether historically using a spreadsheet system or outdated software, many organisations have recognised that if they ‘spend to save’ they will reap significant cost savings and administration efficiencies and meet their compliance obligations.

“Jaama’s continual investment in introducing new features to Key2 – many introduced at the request of commercial vehicle operators – means the technology is at the cutting-edge enabling managers to drive down costs and increase vehicle operation efficiency.”
